For both POP3 and IMAP, in the Outgoing Server tab put a check mark on My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication

When we use an IMAP account, in the statusbar will see and indicator specific to the IMAP connection.

3)      Auto Account Setup
– go to  File – Add Account and fill in all the fields from the Add New Account – Next

The wizard will make all the necessary settings for the Exchange account.
At the end we have to restart Microsoft Outlook.
After doing these operations, Outlook will set the *.ost file as the default one for receiving E-mails.
In the statusbar we have a new connection indicator for the connection and an information text regarding the sync status.

If we go into the Backstage View we will notice that for the Exchange account we have some new commands:
– Out of Office;
– Mailbox Cleanup;
